The Campus

ACJ’s campus at Taramani, Chennai, has a built-up area of 80,000 sq ft. and comprises the college and the residential blocks.

In response to the pandemic, the college has put strict protocols in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and to ensure the health and well-being of the students and staff.

With its diversity, liveliness, educational and developmental resources and cultural traditions, Chennai provides students of journalism with a vast laboratory to explore and test their skills.

The location gives the campus the unique advantage of being insulated from the din and bustle of the metropolis and yet just a 15-minute metro train-ride away from its nerve centre.

The campus is ecologically friendly with solar power panels generating the major part of the electricity consumed.

The waste generated in the accommodation and canteen is segregated and the organic waste is composted into manure for the plants on the campus.

A weather station installed on the terrace of the academic block in collaboration with The Weather Company, an IBM business, offers realtime data. This data and other material offered by The Weather Company help students to track changes in weather patterns over the years.

The composite facility provides an excellent setting for students to live and learn together in a congenial and stimulating atmosphere.

The college complex includes:

  • 10 large computer labs
  • 8 classrooms, big and small, fitted with modern teaching aids
